Is your Event App Worthy?
On: February 06, 2014
From gamer applications like Candy Crush to those designed to navigate you to the nearest available parking spot, apps have become part of our every day existence. And as meeting planners, professionals on the go, you know what your smartphone wallpaper looks like. Perhaps you have lnstagram and Facebook apps at the ready. Maybe you're a Yelp-er. And undoubtedly there's the app for easy access to your email. Whatever your steady smartphone grid is, we challenge you to expand your techie know-how and try something new in the New Year!
Event app options run the gammit. Like all other service providers you vet and hire for your show, you'll first need to prioritize the features which matter most for your event. Are you looking to streamline a portion of the conference hand book from in-print to online? Is communicating conference updates onsite a challenge to tackle? Are you trying to keep attendees connected beyond
(or before) the life of the conference? No one knows your audience like you do! Don't get distracted by flashy graphics and funky features. Consider your attendees' tech skills, exhibitors' needs and wants, and take your first steps in enhancing your 2014 trade show.
Fortunately the Event Manager Blog has taken a lot of the guess work out of assessing and compiling an overview of event app options. Before delving deep into your own research, check out their free ebook: The Event App Bible.
